Why would you close this thread...

    but not this one

Gotta call you on extreme inconsistentcy

    I don't buy your reasoning...

This thread has gone way off topic, I'm closing it so you can post in this other thread that has gone off topic.

Because sometimes we simply let threads go. Buy my reasoning: Grim02 started the Aug 20th thread with the specific intention that it not be full of flames and trolls etc, instead with that comment the entire thread went downhill. We already had a thread for people uninterested in the fun of rumors to discuss in, the 610/ACE thread. There was no reason for two, so I closed the newer one that asked to specifically not become like the 610 thread.

Going back to my topic sentence, sometimes (as a moderator) we simply let threads go. As long as it stays fairly clean, the thread can go anywhere it wants. The 610/ACE update is a perfect example of a meandering thread. This forum needs a few threads like those simply because some users want a little less direction - we'll keep a few open.

We will try to be as consistent as possible in moderating, but sometimes we simply let things slip, or we bend the rules. So be it. Especially in this specific example, I don't see what the problem is.
