Why is my Palm Pre so slow at loading and playing "youtube" videos on 3g and/or a WiFi connection?

Also, can we ever play a (windows meadia video) file WMV on the Palm Pre?

    Please me nice...Thanks

Hi ryanccrawford, and Welcome to the P|C forums!

Not sure what to tell you about your YouTube issue, so I'll let someone else chime in, but as far as your question about playing .wmv files... the answer is no. It costs a TON of money for companies to license that format so many don't support it anymore.

These are the video formats supported by the Pre: MPEG-4, H.263, H.264

You can convert files to the proper video container if you want to watch them on your device. Simply take a look at this thread:

    Thank you for your time.

Right after I posted, I searched and found that info on WMVs.

What do you do when someone sends you a video on email?

When that happens for me, I just pull my email up and watch it when I get back to my computer. As more companies move away from the .wmv format, we'll probably see less of it coming through. I get a ton of them sent to me, but I've just accepted that it's just one format I'd be happy to see go away.

    Thanks again.

By the way, have you seen the "tip" on converting music files to aiff or something to increaase the amount of songs one can store on the pre?

I'ved searched and searched and can not locate it.
