Alright, as I understand it, Terminal allows for the entry of Linux commands without having rooted the Pre. And it seems that editing certain core Linux files is the only way to disable the callhome functionality.

From what I've read, it seems there are three options:

1) Change the hostfile point from to one's own server.
2) RDFFileReceiver script
3) Some other commands (somebody on either reddit or digg mentioned it before, but I can't seem to find it) that wouldn't so much redirect who it informs as much as disrupt the callhome function from even executing.

So I guess my question is whether or not any of those three can be done via Terminal on an unrooted Pre, and if so how?
