    I downloaded google maps and did the get directions thing and clicked on use GPS... so i follow the blue dot or whatever through the map

    Will I be charged for using this?

    I'm on the SERO 500 plan if that matters

    nope. the only thing sprint could charge for is data, but since you are on the sero plan, you're covered.

    There are only two instances in which you will be charged for using GPS:
    1. You're using TeleNav
    2. You don't have a data plan

    Other than that, all other GPS applications will work fine and won't cost you an extra dime as far as Sprint is concerned.
