As a tasty little update, I am proud to announce that I have CrunchyRoll playing on my Mogul! Oh happy days! I've been waiting forever for this moment. I keep a fairly extensive list of streaming flash websites (some of which may not be "appropriate" material), but if zbop agrees, I will post what I have so that more sites can be added to the compatibility list.

The only nitpicky issue I can come up with at the moment is the extreme lag one gets by trying to seek the flash video in TCPMP. This just might be normal though. Also would be nice if we could see some sort of download progress of the stream so we know how far we can seek in a clip without the dreaded wait time.

If you've got a list of flash sites, yeah you can post it, but please don't post the "inappropriate" sites in this thread, if you want to suggest those, PM them to me. Just trying to keep the thread clean.

I also need to update the "filter" that I previously posted about sites that qualify, since some of the suggestions have WAY too many dead links and others do not host all their content.

Regarding the seeking, I'm pretty sure TCPMP does not support seeking in streaming mode. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anyone that's actually working on TCPMP anymore, but I'm toying with the idea of getting some other developers involved and making some modifications.

Just installed this and it is amazing! Watched about an hours worth of youtube videos on my axim over wifi with no issues whatsoever! The video looks perfect in landscape mode.

For the guy that had it working in the emulator, I still keep getting the following error on YouTube direct:
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player" Naturally the link they provide does nothing for us PPC users.

video.google.com doesn't show anything but the still of the video. I don't see anything at all in the lower pane where the video usually shows up on the full size PC.

Still, not a big deal. I'll just hang out a while longer on this one.

Go to http://ytpocket.ath.cx/ and follow "Click to get started", that should work on ppc 2003.

Not to burst your bubble DeepBlue, but adding support for 2003 is kinda low on my list. Unless it's a REALLY simple change, I probably won't put in the effort unless I get a bunch of requests for it.

I doubt it's that easy, but it's the least I can do. When the news of this success reaches the 10 'o clock news, at least I can turn to my buddy and say, "I helped by providing a list of compatible streaming web sites." Maybe my thinking is too ambitious. I'll probably be content enough if this news is DIGGed.

There's nothing specific in the CAB configuration to prevent it from being installed on that combination.

I'll bet it is a security thing... The installer needs to create HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT registry entries to enable the Pocket IE plugin, and this may be disallowed by your version of WM6.

You can try setting the following with a registry editor:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 1 (DWORD decimal)

And then do the install. But I think it *may* be a different policy than that one. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure which policy it is.

I appreciate the suggestions, I have a quite a few now. Some are very easy to do, some take ALOT of effort. I may need to get some web-savvy volunteers to help out if we really want to implement all the suggestions.

Bummer about the security policies, I thought that would work. Where exactly did you get that WM6 and was it customized?

If you want to try a manual install, you need to open up the CAB and drag the files to the TCPMP install folder. You also need to create the registry keys that are set up during the install, and of course, soft-reset.

Use this tool to pull the files out of the cab and to access the registry keys.

Note: If you are installing this to Storage Card, then when you create the registry keys, *IF* the value for that key references the path:
\Program Files\TCPMP\...

when i open any video (using WIFI and good EDVO Connection) the video is opening in the webpage real choopy (i have chang the settings in the TCPMP for use GDI cause my phone is the MOGUL) and then when i try to open in full screen the error 404 is coming......................

If there's any doubt, I would just uninstall and start over clean.

It should take you less than two minutes to:
- Uninstall what you have loaded
- Install both TCPMP cab and FlashVideoBundle cab
- soft-reset

Allright everything is installed in the right place and TCPMP even opens when I click on a video now, but the first time it said I had to update the player since the FLV plugin wouldn't work with it. Just to throw in some more screws in the gears, Zbop what do you think of supporting the browser Netfront. Its the strongest of Opera, Picsel, Netfront, PIE, Thunderhawk and the rest. It offers the best plugin support for Java, Flash, Shockwave, and some others too. Its the only browser to correctly view the Sprint PictureMail site correctly but thats another issue altogether. Its also the browser used in the Sony PSP. Im suggesting this because I dont want you to get to far into development that its not worth the effort. Also I am once again more than happy to assist you in this project and any others you may have. Keep up the great work

404 is a first to me, but there are a number of things in your statement that don't seem right.

If the FlashVideoBundle is installed and working, the minute you click on a video, PIE is no longer involved. There should be no 404 error from PIE so I don't know how you're getting that. Second you say that the video is opening in the web page. This implies that you are somehow using the flash player, but then you state that you change the TCPMP settings, so honestly I can't tell from your explanation what the sequence of events is.

Are you absolutely sure you are using pocket Internet Explorer rather than some other browser?

I have both flash player installed (fp7) and the TCPMP/FlashVideoBundle combination installed and I don't have any of those issues, but I've read that some other users have fixed their problems by removing the Macromedia Flash Player software. YMMV. I would remove it and see if it helps.

Hmm, you are having way too many problems here for something that is really simple to get working.

If the video doesn't work and instead goes to the "player" page with the "Hello, you either have Javascript turned off...", then send me the exact link for that player page (should be in the PIE address bar).

If you get "Unknown file format", there are two causes for this.
(1) The flv plugins are missing. This happens if you installed the two required cabs in different locations or if you have multiple copies of TCPMP installed. Since by now you have probably done so many installs and uninstalls, I don't know, maybe your registry is messed up from previous installs.
(2) The second cause for this is if the streaming content does not have the appropriate content-type specified, therefore TCPMP does not know how to play it. I doubt this is the case, though it's plausible that there are a few video links or video cache servers where this might happen, but 99% of the videos on youtube you shouldn't have ANY problems with.

If you REALLY want to get this working and it ain't too much trouble to hard-reset, maybe you should do that. Then follow the instructions *EXACTLY*, once and only once.

If you don't want to do that, then read in the FAQ (at the end of the troubleshooting section), on how to send me a diagnostic trace and PM me the output.

You can also check on some of the blackjack forums, maybe someone else has run into the same issue and figured out a solution.
