    Does anyone know how to copy these or otherwise manipulate these databases? They certainly wont copy via active sync explorer.

    SKTools can do some db manipulation, but it is far from complete. You can delete entries and export a db to xml. Not sure about import.

    I haven't updated SKTools for a few months so maybe it's better now.

    As with the PIM files, there appears to be a weird "edit only on device" feature. So, in the file editor (or Total Commander) on the device, you can make a copy and then rename it, then drag the copy to your PC in activesync, to edit it. This is how I backup my PIM file every week.
