My Treo Takes FOREVER to load up!

after a soft reset.. i have a password protector everytime i restart the treo.. but after i would put the password in.. it takes a loonnggg time to load up to the today screen?? any suggestion to make it faster??

What plugins do you have running on your today screen? I don't think anyone would be much help until we knew that -

as of now.. i have logohide, weather plugin, palmmessenging thread plugin, and speed dial..

Have you tried disabling the password protection? I mean, if you're 17, by your own admission, unless you're working for the NSA or something, do you really need to lock down the treo?

jk - try it, though, it seems stupid, but maybe it'll make a difference. Barring that, off the top of my head, it doesn't sound like you're running too much, how much free memory do you have after a soft reset (how much other stuff is installed?) - and also, you may want to consider a program that can show you your startup processes; I'm using SKTools after picking it up a few days ago and it has capabilities like that. You can always demo it for a few days and see -

Agree with Alienware- even if you diable pass protection just too see how it loads up.

My treo boots up extremely fast versus all my other PPCs.

Which weather plugin are you using? That was a problem for me.

I got the marsware weather plugin.... but the removing password reduces the time by like 5 secs.. but still takes awhile..being 17 regular phones don't amuse me..

Try either removing the Marsware weather or disabling the today screen plugin.

That was the app that did it for me (700w).

I had the same problem with the Marsware WeatherPanel. If I remember correctly, after I deleted those two fonts listed somewhere in the below thread, my boot time improved dramatically on the 700wx.

Dig through that post and you'll see a reference to two font files you can delete. If fixes the messed up dialing font when you call someone too if you're having that problem.

Yep, it's the Weather Panel fonts issue.

Remove them and you should be set.

So removing: BRADHITC.ttf and Pixel.ttf will speed up the boot time? Or is it two other fonts (I am in the process of searching the 24 page thread).
