I have had a problem develop. Suddenly the icons in explorer that indicate an excel file have disappeared & the generic icon is showing. If I click on the file the system says it does not recognize the type & to open the program first I open excel & it recognizes the file & opens fine. When I close excel the problem reappears. Does anyone have a suggestion short of a Hard Reset?

I looked to see if there was a way to change the file type but didn't have any luck in my 700w. Then you could relink XLS files to Excel again. I did a search on the internet and found this.

You could always download the trial and fix it. Hopefully it won't happen to you again.

I tried but the program does not support square screens. I cannot get to the lower portions of the screen to complete any actions.
