I bought my Pre Plus last Tuesday evening (8/10), and since then I've installed the following patches/tweaks on my phone:

    4x4 Icons v5
    Add Date - MM/DD
    Battery Icon and Percent
    Capture with Volume Keys
    Character Counter
    Delete From Notification
    SMS Tone per Contact
    Virtual Keyboard

This is addictive! But at the same time, most all these tweaks are things that, honestly, should have been in place from the get-go. Still, it's fun to tinker, and having a phone that ran perfectly with no options for upgrading/patching/tweaking out of the box would be awfully boring wouldn't it? It's a heck of a lot more fun than my old Storm.

When patches first started I promised myself I would install only the ones I needed. I am at 45. They cause my Pre no problems and they all change make my phone for the better.

Hi, my name is BJ.... and I am a patch-aholic
    *group says "hi BJ"*
I started with a couple, you know, nothing serious, just wanted to try it out. I didn't realize I got hooked until I got past 30, then I realized I had a problem.

(no disrespect meant to anyone with a true addiction)

54 patches here (I'm also an engineer, if that matters). You're just getting started if you're serious about tinkering.

I just looked, and I have 75 patches. Probably time to doctor.

    Patches? Hah!

After some time you'll start getting hooked on crazy like this!

That is when you know you need therapy...

    62 here.

OK, you've got me beat but I don't understand your reference to needing to doctor your phone?

I had to doctor once and though I got back all the paid apps (all but one that is) and my contacts, etc. from gmail, yadda yadda and not yet fully understanding the backup options, I find doctoring a pain in the tookus!!

It took me awhile to recreate all the nice Icons for my page of web bookmarks on their own Launcher page. (see below)

I just finished re-inputting items into my iShelf app.

I'm still inputting passwords, etc. into my Keyring app.

I have yet to re-input other important data into the MyLists app.

Don't get me wrong, I'll doctor if the need arises - again - but I'd just as soon not and your remark makes it sound like something to do really often. What am I missing (if you don't mind enlightening the unenlightend).
