My pre is constantly locking up on me when I am talking on the phone, the screen goes off and none of the buttons work. I can still talk and hear what the other person is saying which is good I suppose. I can only turn the phone off by removing the back and taking the battery out as the off / on button is also dead.

This is happenning more and more now, its becoming a bit of an issue.

Anyone know what is going on and how to resolve this?

I wanted to try and do a full restart using palm OS Doctor however I cant seem to run this as the final next option is grayed out.

Most likely a bad proximity sensor. Open Device Info, then select Interactive Tests from the application menu. Click on Screen to test the proximity sensor.
