    On my wife's pre the touchscreen is shattered and not working. I have the replacement phone and need to know is there a way to back it up while hooked to the desktop? Or should I just go thru the steps of updating her new phone and hope everything transfers

    Well I found out that without an EV signal Sprint Tech support cannot activate a replacement phone.. So we will be taking both Monday to a Sprint store and hopefully in the process she won't lose any contacts info.. Thanks to all who participated in this thread...
