“There are a whole host of linux players that can already sync with the Pre.

Of the top of my head, there's rythmbox, amarok, exhaile, banshee and songbird.

I've been using Banshee lately because I like the way it handles cover art.

I'm sure that at least a couple of the linux players have Windows and Mac versions as well.”

So, If you would like to try it, I have made a Google search of each Linux Players he mentioned, for a download:

Rhythmbox - The music management application for GNOME
    Amarok | Rediscover music!
Exaile | Music Player for GTK+
Songbird - Open Source Music Player

Amarok is great, but 1.8 is the only version I'd run, I hate the new interface.

Make the Pre a music player in Ubuntu while in USB mode
