I have no idea to you developer type folks, but it sure looked like news to me.

We are pleased to provide below the source code of various open source software components used in webOS 1.0.1"

Dang, can't even give you guys a link because I'm a newbie. What's up with that? Try opensource.palm

Good for Palm - of course they were compelled to do this by the terms of the Gnu Public License which covers more than a small amount of those software packages.

Bottom line is more eyes looking at problems/bugs; quicker resolutions; tighter code.
