BTW, I've seen a mock up of the pro at best buy, and it's been several weeks now. I bet that's what he/she/it was talking about.

no it was a chick i talked to on the phone and she said she knows its there but her manager is the only one allowed in the back office and he was the one who had left for the day...sorry figured that would be kinda self understood but my bad...I went last night talked to her and the store manager....its the manger of mobile who had left

ima try again today....and yay I made front page precentral.com as wel hehe now if I can get some pics today and paperwork I might make engadget hehe

My friend is a manager at BB and I just asked him about it. He has nothing at all. Usually they get the information and dummy phone about 2 weeks to a month before launch.

Hes been a manager there for over 10 years and I am sure he knows what hes talking about.

Dont see it happening anytime soon.

Hu- was the Best Buy in the Twin Cities area? I stopped in a store in early February just for giggles, clearly stated - the Palm Pre, not the Pro, clarified again for the sales guy, and then he went to the drawer of dummies and pulled out the Pro. Even after asking several times if it was the Pre...

If the launch actually was soon then the do larger chain Best Buys get their materials first?

I've heard that this is the case with other major electronics launches(videogame consoles).

Okay, here I go chiming in on a "rumor" thread and it never ceases to amaze me that there are thousands of posts about a phone that nobody has really seen, if you know what I mean.

I just talked to the guy at the BB store that showed me the Pro and let me take photos of the phone when they had it (which I posted here). He also knew quite a bit about the treos and Palm. I called with the excuse of wanting to know if they got the Pro back yet or know when. He told me that it was supposed to come back out, first at the end of January and then on Feb. 15th and now it has been delayed indefinitely so he's thinking there was something very wrong with the phones.

Anyway, back to the Pre. I asked if he heard of the Pre and he said, "oh yea, BB is getting a 60 day exlusive on the Pre, but the problem is that Apple has an injunction preventing the shipping of the Pre because of the dual touch technology." This guy is a Treo nut himself and has been waiting for this phone. I asked if the store had a dummy phone or some brochures, and he said that nothing like that has been given to the stores. He was really worried that the "dual touch" was a big, big deal and could stop the Pre from ever launching as it's supposed to. Dual touch for those that don't know is when you can take two fingers to the screen and stretch or reduce an item such as a photo.

Does anyone know if Apple does indeed have an injunction? I know people said something about a lawsuit, but an injunction could be a better way for them to go as you can't squeeze blood from a turnip, so to speak.

That's false information... an injunction would DEF be news that is posted.

And the real word is MULTITOUCH, I'd expect him to use the right terminology before I started believing him.

I have not heard of Apple having an injunction on Palm.
