Palm Pre site changed

Anyone notice that the front page for the Pre on Palm's site has changed?? I noticed this yesterday. [url=http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/pre/]Palm Pre Phone - Features, Details, Reviews : Palm USA[/url]

The verbage to the left of the phone used to say

[B]Introducing[/B]
[B]Palm Pre[/B]
[B]The first phone with the new Palm WebOS.[/B]
[B]Thinking ahead is a beautiful thing.[/B]
[B](Notify Me >)[/B]

Now it says

[B]Palm Pre[/B]
[B]Thinking ahead is a beautiful thing.[/B]
[B]Coming Soon.[/B]
[B](Notify Me >)[/B]

Realized it too, and they left all the space on the right empty, wonder what they'll put there...

ooohhhh.....

now why would someone bother to change that to say "coming soon" if it was only coming in June??

the mind boggles...frankly I thought all these "Feb 15" rumours were very unrealistic....first half of 2009 generally means June 30 at 11.59pm....

...but just maybe there may be hope!

You can send email to VZW regarding Pre launch date. Here's a link to VZW contacts. I did it and they dont have any info but mentioned that they want to hear from customers regarding what phones they want on VZW.

I went to peek at the site and found this statement under details for the Touchstone charger:

[B]-Requires Palm Pre back cover for Palm Touchstone™ charging dock, [U]sold separately[/U][/B]

What? Required, but a separate purchase?! Maybe the Touchstone will some in at the fair price of $29.99, but then ruin the deal by charging another $29.99 for the replacement back. Better not be ...

It sort of makes sense though. If you want a Touchstone for home and for your office, do you really want to buy two of the backs? I'd imagine its going to be like $10 for the back and $30 or so for the Touchstone itself, but that's just my guess.

I don't notice any change to that site...maybe I'm missing something? It reads the same that I have been reading for a few weeks now...

I know for a fact that on 2/1/09 it read:

Did you notice the time changed as well? It now says 3:15.

I think he's messing with u :-P Anyways, good catch on the coming soon thing! Hopefully thats another indication that it really is coming out in feb/mar. It's also possible that they just wanted to make sure people weren't confused if it was out or not. Who knows.

That's what it's always said...that's what I'm saying.

Like said before, coming soon should mean within a month or 2, 3 tops. No one considers June soon IMHO.

I usually always go to the Pre page by typing [URL="http://www.palm.com/pre"]www.palm.com/pre[/URL] but maybe I went to the Palm start page that day. My bad.. :(
