I know I have no credibility here, and my source has no credibility here, but I just talked with somebody I know on the business side of things at Sprint, a guy who knows his stuff. He confirmed the Feb 15 release date for the Pre (not the pro). He said mid feb (specifically the 15th). I asked him, of course, if it he meant the pro and not the pre, and he said, specifically, the palm pre with the WebOS. Keep in mind, he is not a CSR or somebody who works at the retail level, though he isnt any bigwig or anything. All I can say is that he works on the business side of things.
This is a guy I have known for nearly a decade, and trust, so itīs not like he would lie to me. I know the readers of this forum have no reason to trust me as I just signed up, and rightly so, but I am just passing on what I know. We will see if these rumors are true on the 15th. I thought I would relay this information to all who are eagerly awaiting a decent phone from Sprint, like myself. I am really excited about this thing, so I really hope this is true. I really think this will be good for the whole mobile industry when this comes out, because it will give consumers another choice, forcing Companies like Apple and Google to step up their game with Android.
Edit: I just wanted to add. I did ask him about if they will require the SE plan for this, and he flatly told me no. He did, however, say that, of course, the sales people would try to push it, as it is there job. That said, I am sure there is always the unethical salesperson out there who will oversell it and makes claims such as the Pre requiring the SE plan. This is what he told me. We will see.
