I don't believe it is from what I've read. If any phone were to receive the update it would be the Pre 3.

webOS 3.0 seems more optimized for the TouchPad. But I'm sure that if phones can run it they will release it for them or get a similar update that is more optimized for phones. Either way, Im sure the Pre 2 will get more updates as they are released.

They've said it'll run for the Pre 3, I can't think of too many hardware differences that would make it unusable on the Pre 2, ESPECIALLY if it gets released for the Veer. Unfortunately HP has hindered purchases and developers by not having a clear roadmap. Some features are compatible with some devices, some apps will work on some phones but not others. There needs needs to be some clarity.

i recall in an Engadget interview, it was said that the pre 2 WILL eventually run 3.0

I'm sure the equivalent of 3.x will happen, but the version numbers may not be that simple. They would be crazy to split the code stream, so it's got to be designed so that there are modules included/excluded from each device type.

I don't have a source, but it WAS stated (IIRM) that the pre 2 will get webOS 3.0.

Take that with whatever grain of salt you want.

All I recall was that Enyo would come to the Pre2 and Veer and Pre3 - I don't recall any specific reference to webOS 3 - but maybe that inference was what drove that thinking?

Good point. I have been pretty impressed by what I've seen from HP in the past month or so. Acknowledging the ridiculousness of the 2.0 NDA, talking webOS up at their events and conference, the webOS connect event, and releasing the 3.0 SDK shows that the direction of webOS is much better than where it was IMO.

Pre2 has a 2.2 roadmap cooking if I recall right. "Eventually" Enyo was supposed to be brought back around to phones, too. Somewhere it was rumored that the TP Doctor had a small screen keyboard in it, too.

Of course that all is meaningless if HP finishes killing webOS. Let's hope not!
