I have no idea when the phone is coming, but I think Black Friday is a bit off. I say this because Sprint advertises the device (as coming soon) on their website and except for the Samsung Moment (which you can pre-order now), all the "coming soon" phones they advertise are being released this month. I wouldn't think that Sprint would advertise a phone nearly two months out (since began advertising it late last Month).
I believe the Hero was advertised on the site almost 2 months before the actual release date? I might be wrong.

Unless I just wasn't paying attention (quite possible), I don't remember the Hero being advertised 2 months ago. That said, it's not in the habit of Sprint to advertise phones 2 or more months out. I will say, however, the October 20th is an unusual and unlikely date. Sprint normally releases phones on a Sunday; the 20th is a Tuesday
