For no apparent reason my reset button stopped working and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do. By looking at the button, nothing appears different and I haven't "jammed" it or anything. Suggestions? Is unscrewing it and opening it up safe? I have zero ideas. Thanks for you help.

I wouldn't open it up. Just take out and replace the battery - it has the same effect.

I would go ahead and get it replaced if it is still under warranty. After all, it is a hardware defect.
