    Verizon Wireless Treo 650 upgrade attempt from 1.03 to 1.04

    Following the guidelines from

    Step 4 says to do a hotsync with a new user Account e.g. TempDelete post hard reset. However, when I do this I get a hotsync log that says

    "HotSync operation started for TempDelete on 10/30/05 06:40:53

    HotSync Error: An application cancelled sychronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop or Install Tool. (8009)

    HotSync operation completed on 10/30/05 06:41:44"

    What could this mysterious application be?

    I did the same upgrade from verizon and now I cannot sync.

    I deleted my TempDel profile and have twiddled the settings for the various conduits, but, I cannot get a sync to complete.

    I do not even appear to have the condition that is stated in the error pop-up msg on my computer when I hotsync:

    Status: Identifying user
    User: fnord5

    Palm Conflict Notifier
    A conflict in the installed conduits has been detected.
    This is caused when two different conduits are using the same PIM data type (e.g., Address Book vs. Contacts). To allow synchronization to proceed, use the HotSync Custom dialog to change one set of conduits to "Do Nothing".
