I format my ATP 1 GB card but when I place it in my Tero650 or IBM laptop it only reads 976 MB. Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Card and hard drive makers define 1 Megabtye as 1,000,000 bytes. It's a way of giving you less than you pay for. Operating systems define a megabyte using the proper binary calculation which is 1024*1024 = 1,048,576 bytes. So 1,000,000 bytes is less than a true megabyte. Then there's some overhead lost to formatting, and you end up with your 976 MB of usable space.
