In a genius of marketing accumen, Treo/CNG provide 'auto-answer on ring' capability, but only for a BT headset, which is not enabled for voice dailing. A wired headset has excellent voice dailing, but cannot be set to auto answer. Thus neither arrangement can provide reasonable hands-free operation.

Is there any third party SW, hack, whatever, that will enable a wired headset to be configured to answe an incoming call, then hang up when the call is over? Perhaps as simple as changing a status bit to tell the OS that the headset is actually BT for answering purposes? Big sigh.
