I picked up a treo 650 for Verizon the other day.

I've been installing apps and trying them out but when I delete them off the treo the apps get reinstalled during the hotsync. Also, my mail and text meesages get deleted off the treo.

I'm using a mac with Palm Desktop and the backup conduit was set to backup. I changed it to "Do Nothing" and I still have the problem.

I also remaped the mail button to use snapper mail and that to gets reset to the default.

Anyone have any ideas? This is driving me crazy.

It keeps installing the same files over and over. I deleted VersaMail and and the snapper mail demo so I could install the full registered version of snapper and they keep reappearing on the treo.

Also, I keep lossing my bookmarks that I create in Blazer....

The Hotsync log doesn't lie. In spite of what you think, your Backup or System conduit is set to "Desktop overwrites handheld" (at least that's the Windows equivalent). It should be set to "Handheld overwrites desktop" (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) as the default.

Delete your DESKTOP (PC) Backup Files before you Hoysync.

There are three options in the backup conduit on the mac. Backup, restore, or Do Nothing. I changed it to Do Nothing from Backup to see if that would stop the restore. It did not help...

I deleted my backup folder and changed the conduit back to Backup and did a hotsync. It seems to be working properly now. It is backing up my treo and not re-installing them like it was. Deleting the backup folder may of did the trick.
