I am a little confused as to what OBEX does and why Verizon would want to disable it. I do understand what DUN is and does but the OBEX has me confused.

I looked it up and found this definition for it...

Object Exchange is a set of protocols allowing objects such as vCard contact information and vCalendar schedule entries to be exchanged using either IrDA or Bluetooth. Symbian OS implements IrDA for exchange of vCards, for example between a Nokia 9210 Communicator and an Ericsson R380 Smartphone, and vCalendar.

But even with this I am not so sure why they would disable it or for that matter what it is. Furthermore how would I benefit from having it?
