Is there software that will optimize space and file location on an SD card?

There are no moving parts, so I really don't know how much optimizing will truly help for a flash card...

That said, I think you can always mount it onto your PC and run Norton Disk Doctor on it. Whether it helps when you use it on your palm is debateable.

I use Zlauncher and that sufficiently helps me to optimize and manage the card. I guess you should be more specific when you say "optimize". Speed? Organization? Access?

Try FlyZip, the file compression app. ZLauncher integrates with it.
