I am buying a Sandisk Ultra 2GB SD card, who's with me?

My Sandisk Ultra 2GB card finally now works in my Sandisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter.

I followed these steps:

Formatting the card using Windows XP
1. Insert the Sandisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter in the PC's PCMCIA slot.
2. Insert the card in the card adapter.
3. Double-click "My Computer".
4. Select the drive letter corresponding to the card.
5. Choose File > Properties.
6. Click the Tools tab.
7. Under Error checking, click the Check Now button.
8. Select both "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors".
9. Click Start.

Once I followed these steps, I formatted the card in the Treo, and I was able to copy files back and forth via card reader and Mac! I'm glad this finally worked since I prefer using the card reader via PCMCIA slot (which I don't use for anything else) instead of taking up a USB port.

Not to mention it's pretty fast -- very important if you're copying lots of big video files!

Mine ended up going back to sandisk. Nice people. They used fedex and sent a mailing label.

I got a 512 High Speed Toshiba that corrupted after about a week...crapola, and its from Hong Kong...I even tried Tanster's method...Windows can't complete the process. Same thing happened with my first Ultra II

I got mine from bananapc.com . Very fast on read... write speed is sloooooooooooow. also it doesnt work with my compusa 5 in 1 pmcia card reader but works with a sandisk usb 2.0 sd card reader. it works fine in my treo 650 (cdma) and also with card export II

$151.29 and you get a $20 mail in rabate = $131.29
Looks like it's not an Ultra II though.

Nope, its not. Thats just a normal 2GB sd card.

would the normal non ultra card be that much slower
i just want something faster than my 128 card that i got free from palm..its sooo slowww

that tests SD card speed in various smart phones. If you selct "Treo 650" as the device, you'll note that the evry fastest card ever benchmarked in this pretty huge list is hte one that Palm sent oiut as a freebie with a VFS Marl of 712. The fastest reported speed on a GSM model is much slower at 597 on a 60x Kingmax.

Seems to be no rhyme nor reason to the results. The Kingnax 60X got that 597 on GSM and when tested again got 423. On CDMA it got 423 and 428 (all at 1024 MB size)

Does anyone have an answer on this? The pricing for the non-ultra 2 gig is so much better that if it isn't that much slower it may be a good choice. I don't see the results comparing those two different SanDisc 2 gig types of cards on that site you linked to there.

tired of waiting for the ultra ii 2 gig and needing the space, i bought the dell non ultra.

after a couple of issues (mp3 skipping and a/v out of sync) on the first day I havent really had the issues since.

but now the ultra ii is coming.

They must like you guys. My order status is still the same, and no email yet. Hopefully, I'll get one on monday. I need the 2gb of space badly...

EDIT: I got an email alright....but its telling me they have placed an urgent order for the sd card from their suppliers and they're still waiting...
