Actually I have Cingular, and it's GPRS is pretty slow. As far as EDGE, I've heard it's not much faster than 100Kbps. The speeds I get on wi-fi are blistering fast in comparison (approx. 1 - 1.5 Mbps). Besides, even Sprint's Vision doesn't compare.

I spend most of my time within range of a wifi hotspot. My home, and my office.

If wifi was onboard, I would have a guaranteed signal within the network and be able to use/have access to all of the abilities of the network. Just for grins, I asked my network admin for a static IP and the network hotsync ports openned. You could guess his response.

For me, GPRS is great when you're not near a hotspot, but given the choice, I'd rather be surfing via wifi.
