I could swear that at some point, the green phone button on my 650 would also serve as a redial button if I pressed it twice. Now though, when I press it, I get about 2 seconds of blank white screen, and right back to the dialpad screen.

Have I changed some setting by mistake? How do I change it back? Or did I just imagine that I could once redial this way?

you proably added some third party app like date book which disables it . search for those threads. good luck

That's exactly what I did. And I got so annoyed with Datebook5 I removed it about 10 mins after I installed it. I couldn't figure out how to make my phone button stop activating Datebook. Uberannoying.

If you manage to restore your phone button,

Redialing the Last Number You Called:

From the Main view in the Phone application, press and hold Phone/Send
–or–
To display a list of your most recently dialed numbers, press Phone/Send ,
select the number you want to call, and then press Phone/Send again
to dial.

Try this link to fix your problem. Its not the prc in the middle of the thread. Go all the way to the last thread by "takefone". He as a prc file that probabley will work. Post your results.

I never have installed Datebk5, so their reset file didn't work for me. However, when I updated to Butler 2.55 yesterday, bingo my redial button was back. Good luck.

my phone button stopped functioning to call up the dial log (on second press) and i have never installed datebook5..in fact only real 3rd party software on my 650 is lightwave....? what gives
the buttonreset download fixed it although I kept getting device freezes until i deleted the small fix program after i ran it

Spouse's 650 does not have takephone or Datebk5.

If he is in other applications and presses the green phone key once, he goes to the mail phone app--in his case, he sees the wallpaper we installed. A second press does nothing. A third press quickly flashes the redial list (flashes it too fast to read but we can tell that one line is highlighted) then the phone tries to dial a recent call.

I experimented by completely purging his call list, then tried this again. Instead of dialing a recent call, it goes to the dialpad. On my phone, dial pad always comes up as the second entry on the redial list...so I think that once the call list is purged, whatever is left gets highlighted.

Even though he never used takephone I tried the prc fix BtnFix...it gives me the message "PHONE button assigned to built-in application. No need to fix."

Long story short, his redial list does not work.

Anyone else?

I think many of us are keeping an eye on both places 24x7! Can you give us a hint as to when we should pay very close attention to it...e.g. tomorrow, the next day, next week, next month, next summer, next year?

Seriously, this patch has been rumored for months and last week's Treocentral story on the rumor said SMS notifications would happen within 7-10 days and this week for the update. We are well within both timeframes and NOTHING so far.

I did a SYSTEM RESET (as opposed to a soft reset or a hard reset, see page 233 of the Sprint Treo 650 manual) and the function seemed to work correctly! But part of the deal in a system reset is that you have to do a soft reset afterwards to restore wireless function. So I did the soft reset and guess what? The problem popped up again!

Thoughts?
