when you search a contact and they have 3 or 4 different numbers is there a way to set a default for one of them so you dont have to scroll to get the one you need to call.?

Yes - open the "Details" of the record, highlight the phone number you want, select "Do/Select default phone" from menu.

Hi all.

Since this is working on my Treo 600 (GSM), I have been using it for some time, and I came up with this regarding the "redial on timeout" feature:

It just turned out that more often than not, I called a number that was NOT busy, just took the time to answer, and the timeout occured, causing the app to drop the call a second befor eit WAS answered.
To get over that I had to set the timeout to max - 1 min. which in cases where it was busy seems to long.

So - my final conclusion is - the "redial on timeout" feature is just not good - does not improve usability, but rather spoils it.
So - the "Redial on busy" will stay, but will not be effective for the Sprint Treo 650.

i just downloaded the takephone beta 25 the treo skin is awesome
i do have a couple of questions
when turbo is selected in my searches it misses alot of contacts .? not sure why
also i thought i read it corrected the busy redial issue ,does that mean it should redial on its own if number is busy?

shimon for instance i have a contact that first name starts with a M and last name starts with a T when i type mt it shows "mt" not found when i have turbo use address book sort. selected and it does that for quite a few contacts>
when i remove it it finds all my contacts.
2nd issue when i call a number and its busy my screen just shows an active call and i hear a busy signal?

Most GSM carriers in Europe do not interfere with the built-in "Redial on busy feature" of GSM phones.

But my unlocked Treo 650 GSM (Firmware 01.15; Software Treo650-1.06-ROW) purports to have the feature (screen message "Number is busy" and screen button "Redial") but if you try to use it it does not work, i.e. you just go on hearing the Busy tone.

The following is the sequence.

a) The number I have dialed is busy.
b) I hear a Busy tone.
c) On-screen appear:
- A script: "The line is busy. Redial?";
- One button "Yes":
- One button "No".
d) I click "Yes".
e) I continue hearing the Busy tone, but on-screen it appears, for just about 2 seconds, as if the telephone were re-dialing the number (no interruption can be detected in the Busy tone).
f) On-screen re-appear (as in c)):
- A script: "The line is busy. Redial?";
- One button "Yes":
- One button "No".
g) No new re-dialing is performed automatically.
h) If I wait and the other telephone hangs up, no connection is attemped or finalized.

My Treo does it without any third party software...(you know better than I whether you are an ***** or not...)
