I have found that the visibility that 4Cast picks up from yahoo is correct. Unfortunately, Yahoo's value is incorrect. The value they use come from the weather channel site. The value on the weather channel is correct, but for some reason Yahoo get the value wrong. I haven't found a link to Yahoo's webmaster to get it corrected, so I just ignore the visibility value in 4Cast.

Well, it's easy to find out: go to weather.yahoo.com and see if it shows a different number for your city.

I'm back ! and with a Treo !!!

To the point:

1. Auto-update:
I will not be doing updates in the background (when 4cast or 2day is not running). What I will do is - allow an auto-update whenever it's due, and either 4cast or 2day is launched.
Meaning:
As long as the device is off or you are in another application, there are NO updates.
Once you are in 4cast or 2day - whenever an update is due (or past-due) it will be done automatically.

2. Yahoo issues:
This is a problem I identified (I think) with the site layout. I will try to fix this asap.

I was just wondering if you had any thoughts about my problem with the latest version of 4cast -- my Treo 600 getting into that infernal loop (requiring I insert the stylus into the unit to get it to stop) when I launched the latest version of 4cast WITHOUT my phone on. As I recall, you wrote you would address this issue when you returned.

Well - did some testing, and decided the way things are right now is better:

While in 4cast, if refresh time elapses/d - it refreshes automatically.

While in 2day (or when entering 2day), if refresh time elapses/d - it will NOT refresh automatically, but rather display a clear sign (icon) at the line to indicate the data is not up-to-date.
Selecting the line will launch 4cast, which will automatically refresh.

I noticed that; the problem was the site where you are redirected to when you click "try" on Shimon's page. Connections either timed out or I got server error messages (so it was not a problem with my connection). All is working again, though.
