I have a Treo 600 GSM from T-Mobile too. And this doesn't happen to me but how come the poll on this thread has like 60% of Treo 600 users having this issue. I'm scared... I set my Auto-Shut Off time to 30 seconds after reading this thread. Please help me, tell me what's going on, and how to fix this problem. Thank you.

The Sprint Treos do this at 3am every night to do a time synch with the network, if I recall correctly...

I got a response from the palmOne tech support escalation team: the phone is resetting network time to ensure it is accurate. People had complained in the past that the phone was one hour out of synch after the DST changes until they cycled the radio on/off. Mystery closed.

So... Is there a definite answer to what is happening here? In greenawayj's post he states "The proposed theory is that this alarm is for the phone to update it's local clock with Sprint's network time. "

Today is the DST time change... today my Treo 600 awoke at 3:30am, like it does every day... today, my Treo remained one hour out of sync following the DST change! In fact, its now 6:28am and my Treo is still saying 5:28am.

Soooo, it appears it is NOT doing a time sync at 3:30am!
And its certainly NOT a fix for the phone getting an hour out of sync!

I had to do a soft reset to update to DST. Afterwards I wondered if maybe all I needed to do was cut the wireless off then back on again.

Yep, wireless off and on does the trick.

On my phone my calendar is currently empty, and BackupBuddy is not set to perform automatic backups.

The time isn't 3:30 AM for me either - my Verizon CDMA phone (with latest firmware) wakes up at approx. 12:08-12:09 AM every night.

Edit: Yeah, the fix for Treos not updating for DST is to turn wireless mode off and then back on. Figured that out 2-3 hours ago.

Edit 2: Also, I tried PalmInternals and it doesn't seem to find anything

YES! 12:09AM for VZW. I just did a hard reset yesterday and restored from backups, but didn't help. Still the same problem. Crazy!

For some reason, one of our 600's has a weird problem. The screen lights up at 3:30 am a few times a week. Not every day but probably every other day. It's really weird, because the alarm clock is set for 5:45 AM. Any ideas? I've checked for other programs already.

There's a thread or two out there on this. Don't remember why they do this but mine does as well. Time sync? Anyway, it's not a problem. Most questions here can be answered by running a search!

mine turns on every night at midnight. too bad that i was on a plane at midnight on friday and on tuesday. it was very strange to be getting verichat IMs during that time!

mine cuts on at 3:00 every morning "or night".

I think it has something to do with the Palmone Mail App
