    Has this issue been addressed?

    Also, is it possible to add the fucntionality to automatically bring up the contact's note field after a call (maybe selective by category - eg only "work" contacts bring up the note field automatically) rather than having to go to the contact, open up the note field and entering notes about the call?

    I vote for an option that would give you a dialog at the end of a call which would generate a Calendar entry for the call period. It would then take you to the newly created Calendar entry, so you could add notes. Maybe even make the subject of the entry the name from the address book.

    This would prove indispensible for billing purposes.
