What's the largest SD Card Size usable for Treo 600? Is there a limit? The Handsping site didn't mention a limit.

I see that there is a 1 GB SD card available. Has anyone tried it out?

Ever notice how the SD card sticks out so much that you accidently push it and it ejects?? I hated that!!!! Until.....

I took the SD card out, took an Exacto knife to the top of it and shaved just a tiny bit off. Then, I smoothed it with some 1000 grit automotive sandpaper and now it only sticks up a minute amount! It is so close that I almost have to use a bit of finger nail to eject it. Perfect.

you guys should be checking out the sd card section of this site.

users usually post when they see good price on cards. there are several thread on 1 gig card for less than $100.

so far no real issues using the 1 gig cards.

I bought a 1GB PQI SD Card from Newegg.com for $97 and it works beautifully, even faster than my 256MB, which was fine for me. One problem I haven't figured out though, pTunes hiccups with this card. Every few seconds it will pause for a split second, just enough to ruin the tunes. Since it's a faster card, I don't think it's a card speed problem, but what else could it be...

I bought the same card and do NOT have this issue. Try reformatting the card.

Have you tried any other cards or tried moving a song to ram, and playing it from there? It could be a conflict with another app that has nothing to do with the card.

It could also be an incompatibility with pTunes and your particular MP3 format or encoder. You could try encoding with a different encoder at a variety of bit rates, with vbr on and off.

I am using the 2gb San Disk SD card in a Treo 650. (Not the Ultra II) No problems so far -- three weeks of use. I only have 600mb left free. (Lots of songs, spreadsheets and a 32mb dictionary.)

(Someone in another thread said that their 512MB Ultra II was working fine in their Treo.)

I understand that the current Treo file system cannot address or read more than 2GB. 4GB cards are on the way, but one poster in another thread said a Treo might be able to use it -- just only 2GB of it.

Let's hope the next Treo -- has this corrected and can use a 4GB card.

I have Sandisk Ultra II 1 MB card and I highly recommend it. The faster speed is worth the extra $20. Currently 93.95 at B & H.

Sandisk Ultra III 1 GB here. Had it for a couple of months and have had not problems.
This card is probably faster than the Treo (20MB read/write sustained) but it's nice knowing I have the best one they sell. Who knows where I may use it and want the extra performance after I upgrade to a larger card in the future.)

I rubbed the card corners against the carpet to remove some of the plastic and now it doesn't stick out of the phone anymore. (Would hate to loose a $130 card.)
