    Hi all,

I've got a bug with my Treo 600.

Can receive calls normally in "vibrate" mode, but during "ring" mode, the phone displays the incoming call for a millisecond flash, then crashes and resets.

On a side note, if I try to change the alert volume preference under "Sound Preferences" in Phone, the unit also crashes and resets.

Tried a hard reset. The phone "rang" after the reset, but not after data was restored.

Sounds like a possible software conflict to me. Also have loaded on the Treo the following software:

    Pre OS5:
    Palm Searcher 1.8a
    ABG Pro
    Aportis Doc
    Big Clock 2.21
    Black Jack
    City Time
    Dope Wars
    Eudora 2.0
    Eudora Web 2,0
    Filez 4.0.1
    HanDBase 2.0
    Hi-Note 2.02
    iSilo 3.0
    Palm Telnet
    SmartDoc 2.0

    Post OS5:
    Adobe Reader
    Pocket Tunes

Do any of the above programs have known conflicts with OS5? They all seem to work alright, and dunno why they would affect the phone ringer aloen...

    Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Afraid you're going to have to figure it out the hard way - by installing your 3rd party apps a few at a time, narrowing down the problem as you go.

Just delete the MIDI Ringtones file and this will solve the problem.

Another user, STUARTR, told me this in another thread:

After the reset dial ##377 and you will see the app that caused the crash.
Then remove the application shown as faulty by ##377.

    It worked for me!
