The auction:

"This item was obtained second hand and does not power up as the batteries are either dead or need charged. This item is being sold AS-IS to the highest bidder."

I called Sprint with the ESN and was told the phone is currently activated and must be de-activated first before it can be re-activated. I e-mailed the seller and he said he can't get in touch with the previous owner to get it deactivated.

I wonder if the person who won the auction have some ways around this. He's really taking chances. First, the phone may not work at all, second, if it works, it may not be activated. I can see it going for $10 for parts, but $87.99?
