    AFAIKAFAIKAFAIK, $Treo$ $180$ &$amp$; $270$ $sold$ $by$ $carriers$ $were$ $not$ $really$ $locked$ - $you$ $could$ $just$ $switch$ $SIM$ $card$ $and$ $use$ $it$ $with$ $other$ $carrier$.

Any info about Treo600 - has anyone tried to insert some other carrier's SIM card in Orange's Treo ?

ps. what I've seen so far - they are announcing unlocked version here in Europe at pretty high price (699 EUR in Netherland, more than 900 EUR in Italy). Local distributor here in Croatia says they expect that price will remain in the range of existing Treo models (they sell 180 @ 340 EUR and 270 @ 570 EUR today, including VAT). They also expect shipment later this fall and ugprade discount for existing Treo users, but without any details.

That is very interesting. I thought I had remembered that 270 were never locked to begin with. Can any one confirm this?

FS: GSM Treo 600 with Accesories.... here.

in the beginning, when just sold through handspring, they weren't locked. But as carriers started to support them, they were.
