    Now that Handspring has been bought out by PALM, what is this going to mean for us, for service, and warranty and so on.. I have bought several TREO 90's on EBAY and had to send them back, and Handspring sent me a replacement right away, RMA, no charge, within 24 hours.. what is going to happen to that kind of service once Handspring is totally taken over? Any thoughts on this, or has anyone talked to HANDSPRING regarding this...

    Hey Grabbit97,

    I don't think that many things will change with the buy-out, at least not right away.

    I work for a smaller telecom company who was bought by a much larger firm and we are still in a process of migrating products and procedures- 4 years later! The "red tape" parade takes a while to kick-in.

    I would assume that for the first 2-3 years Handspring/Treo will be a brand of Palm and will maintain totally separate business units and coporate structures. After 3-4 years, it would make sense to consildate the business model into one cohesive plan.
