    are there additional charges?

chattermail has the option to turn off while roaming and it got me to thinking about this...

    thanks in advance

In *general* you can't get data access while roaming, so there are no charges applied.

But Sprint does have a data roaming agreement with AllTel, and I don't think any charge applies.

And there's another thread here that indicates some people are starting to get data service roaming on Verizon, and it's not clear what charges might apply.

Not the definite answer you were hoping for, I know.

As of now, Sprint doesn't charge anything additional for data roaming, at least not with my $40 plan. I've roamed on Verizon and Bell Canada. Both have current roaming agreements with Sprint. Several others are in the works, I understand.
