    The US Copyright Office has approved a law allowing customers of locked mobile phones to, and I quote, "break software locks on their handsets in order to use them w/ competing carriers." This is supposed to take effect on Monday.

    This being the case, I wonder what this will do to the pricing structure between locked and unlocked phones.

    This report was on the Handmark Express News > Tech page this evening.

    Great news if true! I'd like to see confirmation too.
    HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

    And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!

    I don't have a link because it came through the news feature on my 650. I have the Handmark Express program (news, weather, etc.)

    However, I searched the gov't site and found the following...

    This is the link I used when should work :

    The wording seems to to this lay-person to have a wide interpretation. Any lawyers in the house?

    HP Jornada 420 --> HP Jornada 720 --> IPaq 3600 --> Clie 615c --> Cingular Treo 650 --> next? 680 unlocked or wait for 750

    "Why is your lack of planning now my problem."
