    I have installed Gmail.prc and got it running without problems (following various instructions e.g. or Gmail help etc.). I also installed the 'hacked' j9secpol thing. I get to the login screen and then it says 'Loading' for a while and stops with

    The program requires a working data connection. Please check your signal strength.

    Of course I have a data connection. I also get the 'do you want allow Gmail to access the internet' thing twice and I said yes. Java settings seem to be ok (according to various instructions).

    Any advise?

    if you're getting the 'do you want to allow' pop-up, that means you didn't correctly install j9secpol.prc. Hotsync it over again and retry.
