I've got a Treo 650, and have had trouble syncing to my iBook with Missing Sync.

I backed up to my SD card using NVBackup, did a hard reset, and now I can sync. HOWEVER, all my data is on the Treo (in the backup).

If I restore from my SD card, then I cannot sync. ("A connection cannot be established.")

I did another hard reset, and confirmed I can sync. Then, I did a selective restore with NVBackup, restoring all the files I thought were related to Memo, Calendar, To Do and Contacts.

Now I cannot sync again. Something in there is screwing it up.

I've checked things out with dbScan and Fix AddrDB, and they say things are fine.

Does anyone know what I should do? Or, does anyone know what files I should selectivly restore to the Treo to see if I can get it to work. That is, what files hold the DATA for memos, to dos, calendar and contacts?

Restore the following files from NVBackup: Calendar-PDat, Contacts-PAdd, Memos-PMem and Tasks-PTod.

Launch each PIM app to make sure that the data displayed is what you intend to use.

Make sure that your version of dbScan is at least 1.9c:
    1. Launch it and choose "Neither"
    2. From the menu, choose Options/"Remove All Deleted Records"
    3. Do this for both the PalmSource and PalmOne databases
    4. Change the action of your desktop Calendar, Contacts, Memos and Tasks conduits to "Handheld overwrites desktop"
    5. Try Hotsync again.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

Thanks. That worked to get the data off the SD card an into the Treo.

Missing Sync, however, does not have a "Handheld overwrites desktop" option for its conduits--it is either desktop overwrites handheld, or syncronize.

It seems like it is sort of working, but...

    1. Nothing from the Treo shows up in Address Book on the Mac side of things. It took a LONG time backing up the Address Book, but NOTHING shows on the Mac side.

    2. The To Do list in iCal has a lot of old tasks, but that is easy enough to fix manually.

    3. The Memos worked fine--and showed up in the Mark/Space MemoPad.

    4. Calendar events show up, but multi-day events only show up on the first day. This may just be a wierd Missing Sync or Mac thing.

Any further help on the Address Book side of things would be great, as that is a pretty critical dataset.

The fix for Missing Sync is to hold down the option key when selecting the conduit so that it resets the conduit.
