Finally, carrier claims and web sites which generate income from advertising and sales of EVDO related equipment (like the EVDO forums) are poor sources of information on carrier coverage. Typical journalisy invetsigative reports have shown that the carriers have "full coverage" in about 1/3 of the areas claimed. It seems upgrading one tower in an area is enough for them to "claim" coverage in an area.

Best bet is to walk into a store in your area, hold in your hand and see for yourself what ya gonna get.
