Best BT headsets for the T650

I know that this gets discussed allot, but I found the BT forum of this use group way above my head (use of BT for many useful pruposes no doubt) and the headset discussions delved into all aspects of BT not just use with the T650. So maybe this should be a sticky (in this or the BT forum).

Which BT headsets work best with the T650 and which do not work well?

I tried the Plantronics 320 and it was unusable. Connect time was slow and the static between the units was awful. Don't buy that one. Now I want to try another and looking for help. hence the post.

I use the sony-ericson 610 and have been super happy with it.
the only issue I've had is I walk away from the phone because I forget that I have to stay close.

I use a Sony Ericsson HBH-662 and love it. You can't beat the range or clarity.

Motorola HS-805. Uses a AAA battery.
In areas that don't have WiFi, you get about 10-20ft. staic-free.
In areas with, your luck will vary.

Features that work with this headset:
Redial, Hold, Answer Call Waiting/Toggle caller, answer phone, rings on incoming call, hangup call.

Problems with this headset:
- Mostly half duplex when paired with the T650 (but it is a full-duplex headset on other phones/BT devices)
- Sometimes will release the call back to the T650 every 5-10 minutes, especially if the T650 didn't initiate the connection to the headset (i.e., you powered up the headset after you placed the call and had to press the button to connect to the call while the call was in progress.

Other features:
- if your battery dies while on a call, the call is xfered back to the T650 without disconnecting the call.
- If using rechargeable AAA batteries (like I do) there is no low battery warning
- Rechargeable AAA battery (NiMH 750maH) lasts about 5 days per charge (incl. unlimited standby and talk time of about 2 hrs a day).
- Alkaline AAA = 20+ hrs of talk time; Lithium AAA = up to 30 hrs! I haven't tested either, tho, as I already owned quite a few AAA NiMH cells I used to use in a pager.

I have had 3 sets in as many months. Motorola razr, plantronics 640 and now Jabra JX10 which I think is the best sound quality and least interference.

I currently use a Jabra BT250v. Its okay but I can't get more than 2 ft away plus it cuts out, even when I'm 1 ft away with the phone on the desk. People I talk to say I'm cutting out, while I hear no issues at all. The Treo Central review of the HBH-662 was great so I thought about trying one.

However, everyone is "out of stock"? Anybody know where I can get one!

I use my Moto 820. I know others havent like it but it works fine. The range is limited (i.e. I cant leave it on my desk and walk very far) but it works good enough (and I use it all the time.)

Cardo Scala 500 Silver $30
Cardo Scala 500 Red $30
Sony Ericsson HBH 600 $30
Sony Ericsson HBH 660 $70
Sony Ericsson HBH 662 $80
Motorola H500 Magenta (T-mobile Store) $80
Motorola H500 Magenta (ebay) $40

Cardo Scala is the best hands down!! Inexpensive, works very well in a noisy environment, volume is enhanced when used with the Jabra ear gel.
Sony Ericsson HBH 600 is average. Battery lasts no more than 90mins (continuous use).
Sony Ericsson HBH 660 & 662 are both very good in terms of reliability and sound quality.
Motorola H500 from T-Mobile store works well but does not connect as easily.
Motorola H500 from authorized/highly rated ebay store: Very poor quality. Look and feel is different from the one I bought at the T-Mobile store. Sound quality is poor, connection is finicky, and paint/gloss is dull.

I first bought a Cardo Scala for $20 after rebate. Works fine. Outdoors with any background noise not so hot. Then I got a Plantronics 510 for $60. Bottom line- The Cardo is a much better value.

I agree with Orangy Girl, Cardo Scala is my best BT headset. I have the Treo one as well, and it is too loose and the BT connection isn't as good.

I am also using a Samsung SBH-100 with Softick Audio Gateway - great stuff!

I have a Treo 650 and a bluetooth Motorola H500 Wireless Headset. The problem is that the headset automatically picks up an incoming phone call. I have had two prior H500 headsets and used them with my 650 and this problem did not exist. I did buy this latest H500 off of eBay and I'm wondering if it could be fake or a non-compatable version from another country. I have the Treo's Handsfree Auto Answer set to disable so this is not the problem.

Has anyone experienced this problem? It does not seem to be all H500s just some. Does the H500 have different software versions that cause this problem? If anyone can shed some light on this issue I would be interested in knowing what is going on and how to resolve this problem.
