Cingular T650 with the 1.17 version of software and subsidy unlock. Yesterday, someone accidently sent an email message to my sms address. The message broke down into five parts. All five parts have since been deleted and the SMS folder purged. Unfortunately, there is still an SMS icon and the number 1 next to it showing in the phone application. (It could be an MMS icon. It has an envelope with a little graphic and a musical note.) When I tap the icon, the messaging application displays but all of the folders are empty. I have tried a system reset and a soft reset but the icon remains. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hmm... you have to delete something... I can't remember what, but you use FileZ to do it.. Maybe the SMSDatabase..? I think...

Use a file manager, like FileZ, to delete the Messages_Database file.

Messages_Database. That was the one. That did the trick. Thanks for the help. This forum is the best. :-)
