I just want to make sure, before I go ahead and get a Treo 650.

Will I lose anything (Apps, features, upgrade options) by going with the unlocked Treo 650 vs the Cingular Locked Treo 650.

Will I gain anything from going unlocked, besides being unlocked.

I just want to make sure I will not be disappointed with an unlocked Treo 650 on Cingular service.

I am basically getting the unlocked one for free, so it really would have to be a big difference for me to go and spend $300+ to get the Cingular one.

    Thank you for any info!

Dont waste $ on Cingular 650 if the unlcked is free. Nothing on Cing is worth the $.

Do you know what on the Cingular is different?

I don't have Cingular service, but as far as I know, the only differences are that the unlocked version does not have any Cingular branding or Cingular customized applications. I don't think you'll be missing out on anything. If there was some huge difference between an unlocked GSM and Cingular Treo 650 you would have seen lots of posts about it unless of course you didn't search.

I started with locked Cingular and now I have the unlocked GSM.

I noticed two apps not in the GSM but in Cingular, Xpress mail and later, Goodlink. It also has some predefined speed dial such as XPress mail, Cingular voice mail, check balance, and check minutes. Some of the predefined favorites (speed dials) are undeletable. Earlier Cingular doesn't have DUNS and versamail has fewer predefined account types which you wont miss.

The Xpress mail and Goodlink I do not use, so I like it when it is not there. I prefer to define my own favorite (such as adding password to my VM auto dial), so that is also a plus.

The many other predefined Versamail such as SwissOnline, debitel (Germany) etc. etc. available on unlock GSM is meaningless here for me.

All told, I believe unless Xpress Mail and Goodlink is important to you, you are not missing anything. As to exactly what Xpress Mail and Goodlink do, you can check that out at Cingular site.
