    My next last Cingular Treo 650 replacement was #6 or 7 - I've stopped counting. Much to my amazement, the Repair Center rep said that I had experienced enough trouble and they would ship a new unit with a new full year warranty effective upon my registration with Palm. The new phone arrived the next day (no charge) and has not frozen, reset, or done phone-off,on,off,on (my last fun problem). I have yet to confirm the warranty extension, but this generosity makes me suspect a surplus of 650s as the new 700 debuts. Has anyone else had this experience?

    So far it seems like you're the only one. You must have spoken to someone in Cingular must have a pretty high up in authority for authorizing such generous replacement.
