    That is a perfect example of brilliant marketing. It's a coffee machine. It heats water and brews coffee. But marketing makes it look like so much more. And, they've even made accessories to match the coffee machine, such as cups, stirrers, trays, etc.--even a capsule holder that doubles as wall art. If someone is going to pay that much for a stylish coffee machine, of course they have to have the matching accessories.

    I agree, it will sell, even at the absurd price of $250. Almost surprised there's not an Apple logo on it.
    Touchscreens are a fad.
