Don't misunderstand me. I have a ton of homebrew including 25+ patches. But lately I have compared my phone to my wife's which has no mods. I was surprised that there are times her phone outperforms mine - I wonder if some of the patches are less efficient than the stock code - which may drive the need for overclocking in homebrew phones.

Fair enough - but try this sometime. Take a stock PRE connected in USB mode and dismount it. See how long the stock launcher takes to load. Then take a sup'd up PRE with homebrew and an Advanced Launcher...
In my comparison it was night and day. The stock pre was back to normal almost immediately. Mine took quite a while...
