    I love carrier web pages.

This says I can buy a GoPhone Unlimited plan for $50. It says unlimited data, it says I have to buy a data plan, and then it says the pay-as-you-go data isn't available for the Unlimited plan. What does this mean?

Here's my "holy grail" for my Pre2:

    - SIM-only plan: no contract
    - lots/unlimited text
    - lots of data
    - some voice (low voice usage, I average under 200mins/month)

My goal is to use the Pre2 until the unlocked Pre3 is available.

This is the way I'm reading it.

Dumbphone on $50 Monthly Unlimited Plan: unlimited data.

Smartphone on $50 Monthly Unlimited Plan: still need to add a data package at additional cost ($5 for 10 MB, $15 for 100 MB, $25 for 500 MB).

A separate issue is smartphones cannot use the pay-as-you-go data rate ($0.01 per 5 KB). Not that you would want to anyway.

I don't know if AT&T considers a Palm or other smartphone that you bring to the service yourself (i.e. not the LG Thrive or Sony Ericsson Vivaz that they sell as smart GoPhones) as a smartphone in their parlance.
