With a new 2-year contract the price range is in the vicinity of $free. For off contract through a third party I usually see $2-300 in my local craigslist, but currently I don't see any AT&T specific ones available.

Edit: directly through HP an AT&T Pre without contract is $399.99

if you buy as an upgrade or an addition to family plan it costs $100, at least when I got mine in september. Dunno if it's gone down since then.

I just got mine a couple of months ago, and with a contract renewal it was free!
